The first full length release by New Indie Rock Artist Daniel Amedee. A completely unique combination of rock, choral, and orchestral sounds to produce an album that stands out on its own.
"Daniel Amedee is a New Indie Rock singer, songwriter, performer from New Orleans who has been composing music since he was fourteen years old. The songs written at this tender age were influenced by the wonderful culture and heritage of New Orleans Jazz and street musicians performing in the world renowned French Quarter. As he became a little older and lived through high school and college, finding his niche was the easiest part. Music production and composition were natural competencies that allowed in the sharing of broad views like the developing human consciousness and resulting awareness that people are connected internationally through familiar idea of dreams, ambitions, and love.
When Hurricane Katrina forced Daniel out of the city of New Orleans, he realized his opportunity to go after a serious music career. He followed his gut and relocated to Ireland to live and perform around Europe. When he was there he centered on developing his creative and performance skills, honing his music to a sound which was uniquely his own. Over this time he became acquainted with and played with lots of people and had the great opportunity of recording with guitarist Noel Hogan of The Cranberries. After a couple of incredible years Daniel determined that it was time to go back to New Orleans and use it as a base while touring the United States again. When in the States Daniel met producer Charles Gonzalez in San Francisco. Charles, a fellow New Orleans native, was impressed by Daniel's tunes and wanted to record his first full-length album "Themes From...". Without delay Daniel agreed and went to San Francisco in November of last year to start recording. While there, several excellent artists lent their talents to make the album possible. Percussionist Patrick Spurgeon (Rogue Wave), violist Charith Premawardhanna (Mars Volta, Classical Revolution), cellist Steven Sparapani, trumpeter Max-Miller Loran (The Get-Back), and choral vocalist Megaga were an important factor in handing these songs the quality they've got. The songs created by Daniel Amedee are a distinctive mixture of rock, choral and orchestral genres fused together in an unrelenting approach to the music at the moment. It's clear in his writing style that Daniel is not afraid to let loose his thoughts on life, love, and the developing minds of people around him. He captures the soul of Cat Stevens in his lyrics with a powerful voice that can bellow low like that of Leonard Cohen or reach high like Elliot Smith. This is capped off with biting, epic music similar to Arcade Fire. Fans of Sigur Ros will love this album"
